During his visit to Portugal, Pope Benedict has called for Portugal to stop performing abortions and to not recognize gay marriage.

Portugal legalized abortion in 2008, and a gay-marriage bill is expected to be signed into law within weeks.

So it is just me:  or shouldn’t the Vatican be more worried about cleaning up it’s own back yard?  With the sex scandal that keeps growing, how can the Vatican manage to find the time to tell other people how to behave?

What is their unhealthy obsession with my bedroom activities?  Especially in light of their total lack of control over what is going on with their own priests?
